"I used to travel from planet to planet, dodging the stars, chasing the comets."

--Sneezy, The Flood Part 6

Buck Dodger, codenamed Sneezy, is a major character and the deuteragonist of Little King John: The Flood.

Origins[]

Buck Dogger

Buck Dodger in his original 2D form.

Dodger was a Galactic Friend, who frequently allied with the Galactic Superheroes. His original color was a bright green with magenta stripes and black spots [1]. In STARSHIP GENIUS 12 - Cliffhanger, his skin is changed to a mixture of green, brown, orange and black, possibly as a disguise. He is then sent back in time to an island in the Minecraft Dimension, shortly after The Great Deluge had struck. He is assigned by Ratboy to be a companion for Little King John, who Dodger strongly distrusts, but is instructed to be nice to [2].

Personality[]

Dodger is a loyal Galactic Friend. He is eager to serve under Ratboy Genius, and is more than amicable with Caterpillar Minister and Hat. His diction is based off of the expressions used by these figures, using Caterpillar Minister's lines to Little King John in Little King John: THE FLOOD Part 11, and Ratboy's diction (i.e 'Knock knock' and 'Gotta go now, bye!') to Fred in Little King John: THE FLOOD Part 8.[3] Towards Little King John, though, Dodger is often snarky. He takes to insulting him in Little King John: THE FLOOD Part 2, but changes to an aire of friendly banter in The Little King John Show.

Dodger is able to stretch his head[4] and tail, with the action of his tail being tied to his emotional state. He also wags it when happy.[5]

Little King John: The Flood[]

Buck Dodger Mission 1

Dodger is briefed on his mission by the Galactic Superheroes.

Dodger and Little King John become close companions when Dodger is first found as a "castaway" during The Flood [4]. Although Buck was originally just playing along so as not to interfere with Little King John's timeline, their friendship becomes real in the end, despite John finding out his past [3]. As the Final Charge approached back in Ratboy's dimension, Dodger broke out in a fit of sneezing, signaling that the time to connect the two dimensions was now. Mister Bigarms and Very Tall Friend understood the signal, and instructed Little King John to open the portal. After doing so, the Final Charge was successfully averted [6].

Trivia[]

  • In the Ratboy Genius Cafepress Giftshop, Dodger appears on a tile coaster for sale under the name "Buck Doggers". Archives show that this tile coaster has existed before The Flood first came out, indicating that "Buck Doggers" was his original name [7].
    • As other Galactic Friends are sometimes named after notable figures (i.e. "Space Chaplin", "Alien Buddha"), there is a possibility that "Buck Doggers" was a portmanteau of "Buck Rogers" and "Dog", as Sneezy is a space traveler with four legs and a tail. He was likely renamed "Buck Dodger" by accident.
